Germany confirms its position as the number-one European business destination

In 2013, the destination confirmed its position with 1.6% growth in number of business stays organized on its territory compared with the previous year.

IPK International and the World Travel Monitor (WTM) published their preliminary figures for business tourism for the whole of the year 2013. The result shows Germany confirming its position as number-one business travel destination in Europe.

Across the year, 12.7 million business stays were realized in Germany, meaning 1.6% more than in the previous year. On the whole, MICE activity represents more than half of travel with some 7 million trips, meaning 14.5% growth over 2012. Finally, the country confirms its international leadership in the organization of trade fairs, with 12.1% growth in congress-related travel on its territory.
