The Austrian portfolio of Leonardo Hotels now totals 10 properties. At the same time, Katharina Fraissl has been appointed Managing Director of the "Leonardo Cluster Austria".
Through the acquisition of 9 hotels and residences in Vienna, Salzburg and Linz, the Leonardo Hotels chain extends its Austrian portfolio to 10 properties. Eight of the properties acquired are hotels of the bankrupt Star Inn Group (five in Salzburg, including the Loft Collections Mirabell and Linzergasse, two in Vienna and one in Linz). They are all managed as leasehold properties.
The ninth acquisition is a hotel in the Linke Wienzeile in Vienna which, due to the pandemic, has not yet been opened after its completion by the previous owner. After the completion of the renovation investments, it will finally open under the Leonardo brand in December.
The current expansion of nine properties in Austria is the biggest leap forward in a long time for the Fattal hotel operator group. By the end of August 2022, 12 hotels with 1,791 keys had been acquired this year in Spain, two in Cyprus, one in Poland and one in Greece.
Austria is a constantly growing market and, from our point of view, it is essential for the acquisition and integration of new target groups into our customer base.
Yoram Biton, Managing Director of Leonardo Hotels for Central Europe
This sustained growth is accompanied by the appointment of Katharina Fraissl as Managing Director of the newly formed "Leonardo Cluster Austria" with the three key locations of Vienna, Salzburg and Linz. The former Accor manager joined the Star-Inn Group nine years ago.
Most recently she was the manager of the Star Inn at Vienna Central Station and responsible for the administration of the entire Star Inn Group in Austria. Katharina Fraissl will be supported by Stephan Löwel, who will accompany her in her development as Cluster General Manager for Southern Germany and Switzerland.
