Sofitel Lisbonne & Rome

EXTENDAM recently expanded its presence in Europe with the acquisition of two hotels: the Sofitel Roma Villa Borghese and the Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade. These acquisitions mark a strategic partnership with the luxury brand Sofitel, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.

For 60 years, Sofitel has been the embodiment of French-style luxury hotels, with the aim, in each of our 120 hotels around the world, of blending this “little piece of France” harmoniously with the local culture. This brand advocates luxury from the heart, with a clearly recognisable service and culture, but also the quest for a positive social impact, through an ambitious environmental roadmap: 42% of Sofitel hotels are already eco-certified, and we are aiming to have 100% of our network certified by the end of 2025. In this way, Sofitel is paving the way for committed luxury, where the beauty, experience and emotion associated with each stay are combined with a responsible and sustainable approach.  Today, we are delighted to have EXTENDAM as a partner to support the expansion of Sofitel in Europe; in addition to their robustness and professionalism, they have perfectly understood the DNA of the brand and the ambition we have for Sofitel’. - Maud Bailly, General Manager Sofitel, MGallery and Emblems

The Sofitel Roma Villa Borghese, a former 19th-century palace, is located in the heart of Rome, close to Villa Borghese, the Spanish Steps and Via Veneto. This 5-star hotel, renovated in 2018 by designer Jean-Philippe Nuel, offers 78 rooms, a restaurant, a rooftop bar with panoramic views, a fitness room and seminar facilities. A new phase of renovation is planned to improve its energy and environmental performance. EXTENDAM is financing this operation with a Green Loan, backed by Crédit Agricole Corporate Investment Banking in Milan.

The Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade is located on Avenida da Liberdade, renowned for its neo-classical architecture and luxury boutiques. This 5-star hotel has 163 rooms, a gourmet restaurant, a bar, a fitness room and nine seminar rooms. An ambitious programme of works is planned to obtain environmental certification and reposition the hotel in line with Sofitel brand standards. ‘We plan to renovate all the rooms, increase the number of suites and create a spa and wellness area within the hotel’, explains Inès Haack, manager at EXTENDAM in charge of the operation.
