Barceló Hotel Group has reached an agreement with the Fuertes Group to manage its hotel division, which consists of six properties with a total of over 600 rooms.
In the city of Murcia, where Barceló Hotel Group has operated a hotel since 2017, the hotel chain is taking over the management of the Agalia and Azarbe hotels, as well as the Arco de San Juan hotel, which was acquired last April by the Murcia-based company.
The Arco de San Juan will reopen in 2025 as a 5-star hotel, the first of its kind in the capital, after undergoing a complete renovation of its facilities.
The Mallorcan company will also manage the Hotel La Perla, located in the town of Los Urrutias, in the municipality of Cartagena. In addition, it will operate the Albahía and Pueblo Acantilado hotels, located in the province of Alicante.
Barceló Hotel Group thus becomes the most present hotel chain in the region of Murcia, where it plans to establish the four brands of the group: Royal Hideaway, Barceló, Occidental and Allegro.
This alliance will contribute to strengthening tourism activity and increasing visitor arrivals at an important time for the Murcia region due to the development of infrastructures such as the AVE, the establishment of new air links and the reactivation of the sector after the pandemic.
Tomás Fuertes, President, Grupo Fuertes
This agreement allows us to increase our presence both in the Murcia region, where we become the hotel chain with the largest number of establishments, and on the Mediterranean coast, a strategic destination for the company's expansion where we currently operate more than 40 hotels in Catalonia, Valencia, Murcia and Andalusia.
Simón Pedro Barceló, Co-President, Barceló Hotel Group
