German hotel operator ACHAT is expanding with the addition of 13 Michel Hotel Group rental properties to its portfolio in early March, bringing over 1,600 rooms into its system.
With the acquisition of these 13 properties, ACHAT Hotels continues its expansion in the German market, now counting more than 50 hotels. The group's portfolio will also be expanded with the opening of five Loginn hotels this year.
Managing partner Philipp Bodman sees the new hotels as complementary in terms of geography, services, offering and philosophy as a host and employer.
From the structure of our two companies, the same understanding of values to our similar offering in the three to four star segment for meetings, business travellers and individuals, we are a perfect match.
Philipp Bodman, Managing Partner, ACHAT Hotels
Ido Michel, who has been developing the Michel Hotel Group since 2009, will continue to own and lease the 13 property hotels. In the future, he will focus on the targeted expansion of his hospitality portfolio, with Achat working alongside him as an operator.
In addition, all current employees of Michel Hotel will be retained by ACHAT Hotels, since, according to Philipp Bodman, "getting the employees on board with us was a requirement we set ourselves as a prerequisite for this move.
An expansion plan prepared for several years thanks to "the establishment of an experienced and committed team that has enabled us to create robust structures to develop both operationally and in terms of modernising our brand."
