
Meliá Hotels International announced on Wednesday that it will build a 208-room Innside Hotel for £25 million (US$38 million) as part of a mixed-use development in Manchester, U.K.
Meliá Hotels has chosen the 20-acre First Street development as the location for the four star 208-bed Innside Hotel, the first of its kind in the UK.It will be the anchor tenant for the wider £80m scheme, being created by Ask Developments and Manchester City Council and will sit alongside a proposed cultural centre, including the merged Cornerhouse and Library Theatre Company.Plans for the hotel, which will also include a restaurant, bar, spa and conference facilities, will be submitted by Ask next week. The council will lodge plans for the cultural centre at the same time. If approved, work would start in July.
