The events calendar is more than full in France at this end of springtime. Festival de Cannes (May 14 to 25) and Roland Garros (May 26 to June 9), followed by the air and space show from June 17 to 23 and the FiFA Women's World Cup from June 7 to July 7. Go Blues!
Hoteliers can count on the Women's World Cup to keep their properties full with no fewer than 52 games in the territory throughout the competition.
Cannes Film Festival, what results?
While the 2018 edition closed with weak change in results, 2019 was much better for hoteliers who saw their results progress with respect to the previous year.
Occupancy rate in %
In 2019, hotel occupancy was higher than in 2018 with growth in OR by +4.7 points during the festival (including the eve and day after the event).
Average daily rates and RevPAR in €, ex-VAT
Here again the results are positive. On a comparable period ADRs progressed by +4.54% allowing the RevPAR to grow by +11.12%. Hoteliers will keep their heads up with 6 in 52 games being played in the stadium in Nice. That should give a proper kick-off to the summer season!
