The relaunch of the destination for the European market has been organized from Paris and it’s Iconic Cheval Blanc property with a view on the river Seine.

Christopher Heywoods Executive Vice President, Global Communications started the meeting reminding everyone of the last time they were together in Paris too 2 years ago asking themselves about the Covid 19 emerging crisis.

The destination is back with numerous hotel and restaurants openings and a new way of promoting the five boroughs of New-York City.

Between 2021 and September 2022, several openings underline the attractiveness of the Big Apple for brands and investors. Not less than 9,000 rooms are to open during this period bringing global brands in the destination.

  • ACE hotel Brooklyn, 287 rooms (July 2021)
  • Civilian hotel, 203 rooms (November 2021)
  • Park Lane hotel, 610 rooms (November 2021)
  • Hard Rock hotel, 446 rooms (April 2022)
  • Aman NYC, 83 rooms and 22 private residences (Spring 2022)
  • Ritz Carlton NoMad Hotel, 219 rooms and 30 suites (Summer 2022)
  • Virgin Hotel 500 rooms
  • AKA NoMad, Boutique Hotel (September 2022)
  • Renaissance Harlem
  • Flushing, 46 rooms Queens 2022

The F&B activity is also thriving with the arrival of food halls, outdoor dining and restaurants.

NTC & Company invested in a $30 million communication campaign to promote New-York City differently. Get local NYC targets first local visitors as well as tourists especially repeaters. Offering another vision of the city and inviting the tourists to visit the city differently. Using the Fear Of Missing Out, it invites customers to discover a different New-York City at any time of the year.

Another angle is pushed through communication, cultural melting pot with offer to discover Little Caribbean, Little Sri Lanka…

Fred Nixon president & CEO emphasizes “Our top goal is restoring jobs to the 5 boroughs”. He underlines heavy investments made on public transportation to develop biking share and develop the aircraft capacity with for instance new terminals in LaGuardia, JFK and Newark Liberty Airports.

Events, shows and spectacles are also back to welcome visitors and make them live the NYC way of life.
