Professionals in the sector have each implemented numerous actions in order to comply with health requirements related to the rules of physical distance and respect for barrier gestures. Each one works assiduously to be ready as soon as the first customers arrive. Written on 03/06/20, updated 05/06/20 & 09/06/20.

But health reinsurance is not enough, it is also necessary to reinforce the desire for holidays and reassure customers about their budget.

Love of travel by Accor

Many French and Europeans want to go on holiday. Accor has decided to make the most of this trend with the Love of Travel campaign. Steven Taylor shares the genesis

“During the lockdown periods everywhere, we have been surprised to see so many people on social media sharing their craving for travel with such uplifting humour and creativity: it was heart-warming for us to see that they were missing us as much as we were missing them. The message of our campaign then came naturally as we invested to prepare for the immediate holiday season as well as for longer term bookings. Seeing the quick business recovery in China, we wanted to do our part to reassure our guests and to reignite the travel desire.”

The group also offers guaranteed flexibility. As part of the All Loyalty Program customers now have the option to cancel their stay up to the start date for flexible fares. For non-flexible fares, cancellation without charge is now possible up to three days before the start date of the stay.  Loyalty points are also carried over until April to compensate for the months of inactivity at the majority of the group's hotels.

Released, end of lokcdown, it's summer by the French Odalys

Already a forerunner in the budget reinsurance channel in France, Odalys goes further by proposing more flexible cancellation conditions given the current context. It will thus be possible to cancel until the last minute if this cancellation is due to a government decision related to Covid 19. Or to cancel free of charge up to 15 days before departure, including during the summer period.

"Finally, our residences will reopen their doors! All the conditions are now in place for the French to plan their summer holidays. In order to accompany them as well as possible and to remove any uncertainty, we wanted to provide them with the best possible booking conditions in the event that they were obliged to give up their stay due to a new peak in the epidemic. Our teams are already ready to welcome our holidaymakers back to our sites in complete safety".  Declares Laurent Dusollier, Managing Director of the Odalys Group.
