Steigenberger launches a new brand

The Steigenberger Hotel Group proudly announces the launch of its third hotel brand, Jaz in the City – a stylish and inspiring experience.

After Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts and InterCityHotel, the German group launched Jaz in the City. The boutique hotel brand will reflect a city's unique lifestyle, drawing upon the local music and cultural scenes, bringing artists and their works into the hotel. Galleries and guestrooms will feature rotating art exhibits, and public areas will be set to a soundtrack of local rhythms with impromptu pop-up performances by home-grown musicians. The pretence-free lounge bars will provide opportunities for guests to clink drinks with the city's citizens, and the restaurants will feature flavours that combine global sensibilities with local specialities. Jaz in the City will give guests all the tools they need to immerse themselves in a destination, with savvy staff that are always ready to provide tips on cool clubs and exciting exhibitions.

The first Jaz in the City is already under construction in Amsterdam, where it is scheduled to open in September of this year. It will feature 247 rooms and 11 suites, as well as a spa, and provide easy access to the Ziggo Dome concert hall.

On January 1, 2014, Steigenberger was the 48th largest hotel group worldwide according to the ranking produced each year by MKG Hospitality, the hospitality consulting firm founded by Georges Panayotis. At that time it had a network of 84 hotels and 15,760 rooms worldwide. (read our report)
