Sol Meliá S.A. becomes Meliá Hotels International

The Spanish Group formerly known as Sol Meliá S.A. has changed its name to Meliá Hotels International after the general assembly of shareholders approved the name change on 1 June 2011.

This new brand name will encompass their collection of brands and not just be a mere name change. According to the group, the name change is also symbolic and represents the turning point to future growth after the worldwide financial crisis.Furthermore, the hotel company distributes 10 million euros in dividends, an increase of 28% over 2009.Meliá Hotels International also announced that they are preparing a strategic two-year plan that is in the preparatory stage and will be launched in 2012.Furthermore, the hotel company distributes 10 million euros in dividends, an increase of 28% over 2009.
