The newly opened Mercure Timisoara in Romania is integrating an advanced LED panel lock with in-room amenities to create attractive welcoming environments for arriving guests, while also providing digital key capabilities and helping to achieve BREEAM certification.

ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, an expert in hotel security and customer experience innovation, was chosen by Mercure Timisoara to implement VingCard Allure and Mobile Access door locks. 

VingCard Allure integrates seamlessly with the hotel's room management system (GRMS) which allows Mercure Timisoara to determine when a guest first enters the room, with IoT-based amenities in the room such as lighting and thermostats able to automatically adjust to ensure each guest experiences a welcoming environment upon arrival. Such integration can also be leveraged to significantly reduce a hotel's energy costs by determining when a room becomes unoccupied and adjusting amenity settings accordingly. Using the tablets provided in the rooms, guests at the Merucre Timisoara can even use VingCard Allure to instantly display housekeeping or do-not-disturb notifications on hallway signs, allowing staff to always be aware of current guest needs and maintain high levels of satisfaction.

With VingCard Allure's full compatibility with Mobile Access, Mercure Timisoara can also achieve its goal of providing guests with the ability to take full control of their experience via a mobile app by using personal devices to digitally check in and access rooms. By bypassing the front desk upon arrival, hotel guests can begin enjoying their stay immediately while improving their ability to socially distance themselves and reduce their exposure to shared surfaces. Designed using Seos technology, Mobile Access further maintains a focus on guest security by using the industry's highest encryption standards to create, transmit and store digital key information on guests' devices.
