
Hotel rooms have been being modernized for several years now, and have become a veritable place for experimenting with the latest technological innovations with respect to accommodations and comfort. The terms “intelligent” and “connected” rooms thus made their way into the market and designate the current trends in terms of new generation equipment. The rooms are jammed with high-tech solutions developed and implemented to improve customer experience and facilitate the management of their stay, and in this field professional suppliers have plenty of creativity. Presented at the last international Tourism Fair in Madrid Fitur, in January 2014, the hotel room prototype ITH GateRoom is a concentration of new technology including all the latest innovations in the field. Deigned by the Institut Technologique Hôtelier (ITH) in collaboration with the design studio SerranoBrother, it makes it possible to connect to the hotel and its destination, by integrating solutions developed by different industry suppliers such as Microsoft, Samsung, Vodafone, Cosentino, B-Interactive, Kvadrat, Pikolin, Philips, or Roca and Broomx.
