The Henn-Na hotel, in great part run by robots, opened its doors on Friday in Japan. The receptionists consist of a dinosaur and robots humanoid robots, including the French one Nao.
As recently announced, the hotel Henn-Na opened its doors last Friday, July 17, in an amusement park in Sasebo, in the south of Japan. The particularity of this hotel is that it is 90% managed by multi-lingual robots. While one might expect to find only humanoid receptionists that fit the stereotypical model found at hotels, there is also a dinosaur and a French robot with a style reminiscent of Daft Punk. This si Nao, déveloped by the Parisian start-up Aldebaran Robotics. Androids also handle baggage while a mechanical arm manages the coat check and safes.
Henn-Na has 74 rooms at 66 euros. in addition to robots, the technology will be present throughout the property, particularly in rooms, using facial recognition technology and digital tablets to communicate with clients. An extension of the hotel is to open next March.
