Carlson Rezidor launches two new brands

Radisson Red et Quorvus Collection

The group is preparing to launch the "Lifestyle Select" brand Radisson Red and the Quorvus Collection, positioned on the luxury segment and grouping together contemporary properties.

Carlson Rezidor announced it will launch two new brands on the international scene, called Radisson Red and Quorvus Collection, as part of the Vision 20/20 strategy. "Radisson Red and Quorvus Collection are inspired by Vision 20/20, an evolution of our Ambition 2015 growth strategy. Vision 20/20 aspires to elevate the guest experience with innovations in technology, guest service and beyond. These two brand concepts will illustrate that perfectly," said Trudy Rautio, president and CEO, Carlson.

Radisson Red is defined by the group as a "Lifestyle Select" brand, a select service avant-garde concept with a strong focus on design and detail, customer experience, personal interaction, personal choice and technological innovation. A mobile application will be implemented to allow guests to check in and call online concierge service. Radisson Red is scheduled to be launched in 2015 in urban centers in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific.

Quorvus Collection, meanwhile, will offer a new generation of five-star properties, each of which will have its own style, heritage, history and architecture. The properties will include historic landmarks, contemporary residences and classic boutiques. All will offer tailored services focusing on six core lifestyle elements: Wellness, Replenishment, Style, Inspiration, Entertainment and Connectivity. The first Quorvus Collection hotels are scheduled for the second quarter of 2014.

Carlson Rezidor has set a goal to unfurl more than 60 Radisson Red hotels and 20 Quorvus Collection properties by 2020.

The end of Missoni

With the launch of the two new brands, Carlson Rezidor and the Italian fashion house Missoni have mutually agreed to terminate their worldwide Master Licence Agreement to develop and manage the Missoni brand. The existing properties Hotel Missoni Edinburgh and Hotel Missoni Kuwait will cease to operate under the Hotel Missoni brand by 30th June 2014 at the latest. The properties will nonetheless remain in Rezidor's portfolio. Moreover, agreements for projects under development in Oman, Qatar, Turkey, Brazil and Mauritius have been terminated by Rezidor. "This decision is in line with our long-term strategy and focus on our core brands Radisson Blu and Park Inn by Radisson. It is equally aligned with the redefinition of Carlson Rezidor's global brand portfolio. We would like to thank Missoni for their trust in our group and the close cooperation over the past years," commented Wolfgang M. Neumann, president and CEO Rezidor.
