Marketing campaigns by Brand USA made it possible for the United States to welcome 1.1 million more tourists in the first nine months of 2013.

Brand USA, the organization formed to promote the United States as a premier travel destination and to communicate U.S. entry/exit policies and procedures to worldwide travelers, published a report on the impact of its activities on arrivals throughout the country. It estimates that its marketing campaigns generated 1.1 million additional international visitors to the destination between January and September 2013, bringing 2.3% additional growth compared to the probable results without the organization's efforts.

According to the report's results, the 1.1 million additional visitors spent some 3.4 billion dollars in the country and generated close to 53,000 new jobs. More generally, the impact of their presence on the American economy adds up to about 3.8 billion dollars of GDP for a marketing investment of 72 million dollars.

Brand USA continues its efforts to reach goals set by the Travel Promotion Act that consist in welcoming 100 million international visitors in 2021 for 250 billion in tourism revenues.
