At a time when Covid-19 is sweeping through the hotel world, the Marriott group has announced the opening of 7 new properties. Park Hotel Group opens on hotel in Japan in 2021.

Fairfield by Marriott, 6 new "Michi-no-Eki" addresses

Driven by the innovative "Michi-no-eki" project, Fairfield by Marriott is concentrating its properties in key locations near roadside rest areas bearing the name Michi-no-eki. These hotels are intended to provide easy access to all unknown destinations by making it easier for future guests to reach them by car. 
In terms of services, they will each offer a functional and comfortable service with a natural and soothing decoration, typically Japanese. Among these openings are :

  • The Fairfield by Marriott Mie Odai (72 rooms, scheduled to open on 9 March 2021)
  • The Fairfield by Marriott Kyoto Minamiyamashiro (50 rooms, scheduled to open on 12 March 2021)
  • TheFairfield by Marriott Tochigi Nikko (91 rooms, scheduled to open on 22 March 2021)
  • TheFairfield by Marriott Wakayama Kushitomo (90 rooms, scheduled to open on 14 April 2021)
  • TheFairfield by Marriott Wakayama Susami (90 rooms, scheduled to open on 9 June 2021)
  • TheFairfield by Marriott Gifu Takayama Shokawa (64 rooms, scheduled to open in summer 2021)

Konichiwa at W Hotels with the opening of W Osaka

Between Japanese minimalism and urban extravagance, W Hotels Wordwide announces the opening of its first ever luxury property on Midosuji Boulevard, W Osaka.  Comprising 337 rooms, W Hotels is focusing on the Extreme WOW Penthouse, a 27th-floor revisitation of the traditional presidential suite, with a Garden Room, a zen-like garden refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Guests will be able to enjoy two bars and four restaurants with different concepts under the direction of Chef Yusuke Takada. A living room will host artistic performances and a DJ set during the evening. In a "detox, retox, repeat" area, W Osaka offers a fitness room, yoka room, five private treatment rooms and an indoor pool with LED ceiling.
The new hotel has four event and meeting spaces, including the GREAT ROOM, a 390-square-metre ballroom, and the WED YOUR WAY, a private wedding floor.

"From unforgettable dining experiences and live music sets to thoughtful design rooted in the city's history and culture, W Osaka is a destination within a destination where international jetsetters and local tastemakers meet and make magic," said Jennie Toh, vice president of marketing and brand management, Asia Pacific, Marriott International.

Park Hotel Kyoto, the second Japanese address of Park Hotel Group

Park Hotel Group is locating its new 112-room, 2-suite property in Kyoto in 2021. Facilities include a rooftop garden and fitness centre. The hotel's food and beverage outlet, The Corner, will be a coffee shop during the day and a dinner bar in the evening.
The Park Hotel Kyoto is demonstrating its eco-friendly credentials by participating in Room For Trees, which means that every booking made will result in the planting of a tree around the world.
