Malmaison and Hotel du Vin Switches CEO with De Vere Village

Hotel brands Malmaison and Hotel du Vin of MWB Group Holdings and De Vere Village of De Vere Group have switched CEOs.

Robert Cook, former CEO of Malmaison and Hotel du Vin has been appointed CEO of De Vere Village while Gary Davis, former CEO of De Vere Group has been appointed to fill Cook’s position. Cook said in statements to the press that he plans changes for De Vere Group’s food and beverage offerings and denied that his departure from MWB was acrimonious, as had been reported British newspapers. Richard Balfour-Lynn, MWB CEO said publicly thanked Cook for his work at MWB.“I enjoyed working with enormously, for helping to develop Malmaison,” said Balfour-Lynn. Davis praised Cook’s work at MWB as well. “Robert Cook has helped to create both a dynamic brand and a great team during his eight years at the helm of this fantastic boutique hotels business,” said Davis. “It is a privilege to take over his mantle, cast a fresh eye over the brands and take the business on to the next stage of its development.
