Madrid (Ville)
The country’s capital, Madrid, is home to many large corporations, including a high share of multinational firms.
Madrid’s economy is mostly based on the service sector (financial, banking, business services) and logistics. It is one of the country’s entry platforms; with the Madrid-Barajas airport which recorded more than 53 million passengers in 2017 (+6.8% from 2016). Madrid also has a large convention centre, the Feria de Madrid, which has biannual activity with the odd years being the strongest, which is reflected especially in arrivals recorded in the capital.
Madrid hosts more than 32,683 rooms as of January 2018.
