LUX* Resorts is entering the Hospitality Awards in this year’s Best Innovating Concept category. We hope to be considered for this award, which is attributed to a new concept, service or initiative done by a hotel group.
Summary _ Founded in 1987, LUX* Resorts (formerly known as Naïade Resorts Ltd) is a hotel operator with properties in the Indian Ocean. The five resorts in the LUX* portfolio are LUX* Belle Mare, Mauritius, LUX* Le Morne, Mauritius, LUX* Grand Gaube, Mauritius, LUX* Maldives and LUX* Ile de la Réunion._ The remaining properties previously operated by Naïade Resorts Ltd are part of the ‘Produced by LUX*’ portfolio. These resorts continue to be known as Tamassa, Bel Ombre, Mauritius; Merville Beach, Grand Baie, Mauritius and Hôtel Le Récif, Ile de la Réunion, as well Ile des Deux Cocos, Mauritius, a private paradise island._ On the 1st of December 2011, Naïade Resorts Ltd re-launched as LUX* Resorts after a yearlong rebranding process conducted by a senior management team, in conjunction with branding specialists Luxury Branding, in order to redefine the company’s Vision, Purpose and Values and devise ways in which LUX* could differentiate itself from the “Sea of Sameness”._ The ‘Island Light’ concept is born out of months of extensive, internal workshops, market research and external meetings with trade professionals. These taught us that luxury itself has undergone a major transformation and so the company reconceptualised the resort experience around a lighter, brighter version of luxury, drawing inspiration from a simple concept: customer’s time. Time is the only real and true luxury and the one people wish to spend most wisely. LUX* set about discarding endless choices, pretentious wines and fussy cuisine and instead decided to offer guests a simpler, cleaner and fresher approach and the opportunity to celebrate island life and enjoy light living.
