Tujia raises $300 million through China's largest travel agent, Ctrip, and All-Stars Investment.

This online marketplace for rental properties, launched in 2011, has managed to raise $300 million. This latest round of investment brings the company value to more than $1.5 billion (1.26 billion euros).

Tujia offers private rental properties in 345 Chinese destinations, with a further 1,000 abroad. They currently have around 10,000 property rentals available, but they hope to increase this to 100,000 by 2019.

This new round of financing will allow Tujia to continue its development in China and internationally. The Japanese market will likely be of great interest, as it is very popular with Chinese tourists.
