In addition to the sanctions provided for under the Housing Act, which will soon be promulgated, lawmakers have added sanctions to the proposed 2019 budget.

The Elan law, which is expected to be promulgated soon, already provides for fines of 5 to 10,000 euros for landlords who do not register their property with the municipalities that require it (Annecy, Aix-en-Provence, Biarritz, Bordeaux, Cannes, Lyon, Nice, Paris, Strasbourg, Toulouse, Tours and 23 towns in the Basque Country) or do not submit a breakdown of the number of days a furnished apartment was rented (maximum 120 days per year).

The 2019 draft budget provides for a fine of up to €12,500 for owners guilty of lateness in declaring a rental, non-payment of the tourist tax, or, for the Ile-de-France region only, non-payment of an additional tax amounting to 15% of the overnight rate.

Although it is experiencing ever-increasing resistance in some destinations (Paris, Barcelona, New York, among others), the American firm has growing ambitions in terms of development and intends to capitalize on its end customer portfolio, still under development, to maintain its guests' loyalty. Greg Greely, President of Home Airbnb for 9 months, announced the launch of a loyalty program for Airbnb guests. Building on the success of the SuperHost program, the firm intends to develop a loyalty program "unlike any other".

The founder of the platform also frequently announced the company's initial public offering in June 2019.
