Compagnie des Alpes continues to expand its presence in Europe with the acquisition of the Belantis theme park in the Leipzig region. This move reinforces its role as European leader in the leisure park segment.
Belantis: a park with growth potential
Compagnie des Alpes has completed the acquisition of Belantis, one of the largest leisure parks in eastern Germany, from the Parques Reunidos group.
The acquisition concerns the entire capital of Event Park Gmbh, which has operated the park since it opened in 2003. The amount of the transaction reflects an enterprise value of €22 million.
The park, which mainly attracts families, has 27 attractions spread over nine theme zones, as well as three shops and six food outlets.
A fast-growing site with solid assets
Belantis, which has attracted around 300,000 visitors in recent years, generated sales of almost €11 million in the 2024 financial year.
The park is strategically located, with motorway access from Leipzig and close to Dresden and Berlin. It also has over 80 hectares of land, with a further 41 hectares available for future development.
"The acquisition of Belantis is an excellent opportunity for Compagnie des Alpes. This site has real assets which, combined with the Group's expertise, give us great confidence in the park's future potential for development and performance. - Dominique Thillaud, Chief Executive Officer of Compagnie des Alpes
Strategic expansion in the European leisure park market
This acquisition strengthens Compagnie des Alpes' leisure park division, which now has eight sites in continental Europe, including countries such as the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria and Germany.
With five of its parks receiving more than a million visitors a year, the group is confirming its desire to expand in a European market where Germany is the second largest after France.
"We are delighted that the Belantis park is now joining our division. We look forward to working with their teams on the ground to build, all together, a new page in the history of this site." - François Fassier, Director of the Leisure Parks Division of Compagnie des Alpes
Compagnie des Alpes plans to increase the number of visitors to Belantis to almost 900,000 per year, drawing on its expertise in the management and development of leisure parks. With this acquisition, the group continues to expand its influence in the European leisure market, while supporting sustainable development.
