
Alexandria recovers its past prestige and splendor. Its tourist appeal is under full growth. The 2002 opening of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the cultural center with an international vocation that is the legacy of the Old Library, had already sparked new interest for the city of great international groups Accor, Hilton, Marriott, Starwood. By hosting the first Four Seasons resort on the Mediterranean,Egypt’s second largest city has entered the big league. The famous cornice is preparing to relive the glorious hours of the early 20th century, back when the former San Stefano palace hosted the royalty and great families of the times. Today itrises out of its ashes thanks to the Four Seasons Alexandria at San Stefano. The most recent opening of the Canadian luxury group is now the focal point of a vast multifunctional complex that has a 170-meter beach front with residences, offices, shopping center, food courts, cinemas. From the balcony of each of the 118 rooms, with their Mediterranean décor signed Pierre-Yves Rochon, the client may admire the private beach and the marina. Thanks to the city’s only spa, its800-person reception hall and many restaurants, the Four Seasons will resume its previous role as a necessary stoppingpoint for upscale tourists.
