To proactively manage the programme and product areas responsible for, ensuring product is performing to both sales and quality targets and taking action where appropriate to improve occupancy and revenue.

Product design – to decide what we need, where we need it, and ensure that each product line has a clear identity, market position, customer demand and a comprehensive product portfolio plan to achieve the associated sales targets


a) Monitor performance and maximise sales

  • Monitor weekly sales figures and identify products and collections that are not performing to targets, ensuring these are highlighted and appropriate action to improve performance is taken
  • Set targets to increase inventory and monitor recruitment vs target and the saleability of new recruitment recruited and the risks/opportunities this presents to portfolio and thus trading performance
  • Identify trends, sales driving product attributes etc and take action against these striving to improve the saleability and thus the occupancy of the new and existing recruitment

b) Programme management

  • To maintain and analyse the business rules and identify and act on potential revenue risks and opportunities
  • Monitor start days and other programme rules for areas responsible for in line with demand and take action to improve performance where necessary

c) End to end product management – (product and brand collections)

  • To manage the product yield through new web opportunities to improve the occupancy
  • Review and evolve new and existing product collections to increase the product occupancy and revenue
  • To work with the marketing team to promote the various product using trading and revenue results to support the rational/brand
  • Work with the marketing team on the brand collection you are responsible for to merchandise the product effectively for the consumers needs
  • Work collaboratively with recruitment teams to ensure recruitment is in line with product requirements

  • Work with key stakeholders on initiatives to maximise the income potential around existing inventory, for example cash advances for hot tubs or upgrading properties into the luxury collection

d) Market/competition

  • Continually monitor and analyse market sales trends and competitors and identify and initiate opportunities to increase ROI
  • Share any significant insight on competitors programs changes
  • Strive to be ahead of the market to differentiate our product to competitors and customers

e) Customers demand

  • Understand the consumers needs and use this insight for any product development
  • Use consumer search demand as well as product performance to help to drive evolving portfolio requirements

f) New Product development

  • Support the Product Manager and Product Development Manager to understand opportunities and customer needs to help drive new product development to maximise digital reach of new and existing audiences
  • Working collaboratively with the Revenue team to ensure that any new product line has a clear identity, revenue target and to act as the sales programme owner in the development & delivery of brand, market, product positions, product portfolio and associated sales plans.

g) Promoting the cottages programme to internal teams             

  • To update internal teams on new products, collections and features to assist in the sales process, ensuring that all relevant associates are fully informed and up to date
  • To provide training to internal and external teams to share relevant insight
  • Taking the lead as commercial liaison with any other business units within the group to negotiate, execute and deliver all new and existing product related business decisions

h) Team work and relationships

  • To support the Product Manager and other associates with their day to day duties for the greater good of the cottages team
  • To forge strong relationships with other areas of the business acting as an ambassador for the cottages programme
  • To assist in other duties which fall within the remit of the team as assigned by the Product Manager

Additional information: 

  • Product Management experience
  • GCSE Maths and English
  • Intermediate Microsoft office skills
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently
  • Commercial acumen/numerate
  • Strong analytical, research and problem solving skills
  • Proven track record of effective task prioritisation
  • Experience of building a business case – cost / benefit analysis
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in people management
