Sales Manager

At InterContinental Edinburgh The George and Kimpton Charlotte Square , we have an exciting opening to join our cluster team as a Sales Manager… We are looking for someone who can commit to Full-Time per week, across 5 shifts per week (with hybrid working options available). Your shifts will typically be Monday to Friday however due to the nature of the role, you may sometimes be required to work evenings or weekends (representing our Hotels at local, regional and national trade shows on an ad hoc basis). We are paying from £34,000.00 (dependent on experience) plus opportunity to earn 20% of your salary through our annual sales bonus!

As a Sales Manager your main duties and responsibilities will be: 

  • Delivering new direct business/pipeline aligned with the business needs and managing budgeted sales in corporate rooms, C&B and annual sales and marketing plan (ensuring ROI is tracked)  
  • Supporting the sales team in the conversion of Groups and Meetings (both local and KNR generate leads), managing the accounts and focussing on retention and growth  
  • Generating new business leads through social media amongst other avenues and supporting the renegotiation of existing annual agreements in line with the Hotels KPIs  
  • At all times reporting and tracking sales through sales performance reports (using targets, KPIs and sales objectives) and identifying any problems (then working to resolve them) 
  • Working with the wider Hotel team to consolidate board sales packs and monthly commercial reviews, creating pride in the sales team to deliver consistent excellent guest experiences  
  • Developing our team to create an environment using best practice, continuously improvement of processes and supporting to train our team where needed (working with our Director of Sales to ensure that we are producing maximum outcomes for the Hotels)  
  • Overall…you will form a critical role in the Sales Team and work within our wider Hotel to produce excellent guest services! 

We are looking for someone who has:  

  • A track record of sales achievements with at least 3 years’ experience in the service and hospitality industry is essential for this role.  
  • You will have strong strategic planning skills, ability to look ahead and strategies in place to support the plans.  
  • A degree of knowledge of all market segments i.e., corporate, conference 
  • It is essential that you can work well under pressure, with minimal supervision and maintain high standards and attention to detail.  
  • Microsoft package skills and Opera and Delphi knowledge (desirable) 
  • Demonstrates relevant functional experience and good knowledge of relevant topics and collaboration with other hotel departments  
  • Experience in coaching and supporting team members to develop
