This exciting opportunity reports directly to Director Investment Analysis - IMEA, the Manager, Investment Analysis MEA will act as internal advisor and business partner to various stakeholders – primarily Development. An integral member of IHG’s growth functions and expansion in the Middle East & Africa, the Manager will carry out market research and analysis, financial analysis, feasibility studies, and ad-hoc projects.
Your day to day
Market Research and Analysis
- Undertake research on all primary and secondary markets in IHG’s development strategy, within Middle East and Africa.
- Maintain market research database and briefs highlighting macro- and micro-economic conditions / demand generators / existing and future supply / existing and future demand / industry trends / and potential opportunities for hotel development.
- Monitor relevant news and industry publications, to be informed and identify important changes that impact the tourism and hospitality industry, in key strategic markets.
Financial Analysis
- Perform in-depth financial analysis of new development opportunities and renewals of existing projects, from a financial and strategic perspective. The process involves site analysis, thorough understanding of the market, benchmarking, and projecting hotel performance.
- Fulfill ad-hoc information requests from supervisor, Development, and other key internal partners.
Deal Approval Documentation
- Assist supervisor in the preparation of papers/reports for relevant deal approval committees._ Peer review documentation before submission/distribution
Establishing Industry Network
- Develop and maintain industry relationships with consultants, real estate developers, and counterparts at competing hotel operators.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Minimum BS/BA in Finance, Real Estate Finance, Hospitality Management, or equivalent.
Required Experience
- Minimum 4 years of experience, with exposure to development finance, commercial real estate, hospitality consulting, asset management, or feasibility/investment analysis.
- Knowledge and experience in hotel operations is highly desired.
- Experience in the Middle East & Africa is beneficial.
Required Behaviors and Skills
- Highly levels of motivation and eagerness to learn and grow.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, critical thinking, and problem solving ability.
- Knowledge of Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry and hotel financial statements.
- Basic understanding of investment appraisal methodologies and valuation techniques.
- Experience and comfort with various computer software/tools, particularly Microsoft Excel. Financial modeling basics are a plus.
- Knowledge of the hotel industry, the leading players in the global market, and their brands.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, independence, and ownership of projects.
- Exercise the highest levels of professionalism and integrity.
- Effective organization, prioritization, and time-management skills.
- Collaborative team player within Investment Analysis function and with other departments.
- High level of multicultural awareness.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
