We know that it’s never been more crucial that we move fast and act now, and our corporate responsibility team is at the heart of this, supporting IHG’s three operating regions – The Americas, Europe, Middle East, Asia & Africa (EMEAA) and Greater China. We also hold responsibility for leading all ESG reporting activities and communicating progress to a variety of highly engaged stakeholders.
Your day to day
In this role you will lead manage global community programmes and NGO/charity partnerships and community initiatives for EMEAA, partnering with key regional stakeholders to deliver community impact and position IHG as a company that cares.
Your key responsibilities
- 50% of your time will be managing a variety of Global projects around our focus areas of food, skills and disaster recovery
- 50% on EMEAA Regional community Impact including:
- Leading strategic charitable partnerships and activations in EMEAA around IHG focus areas: Skills, Food Security, Disasters across region.
- Providing strategic support for local Giving for Good execution across the EMEAA region and providing teams the tools to plan and execute local service projects and track impact
- EMEAA volunteer activation (volunteer events with community partners, data collection, etc.)
- Data management – ensure timely and accurate data capture of all EMEAA community activity into Community Tracker.
- Activating Disaster relief response for EMEAA disasters
- Develops tools and resources on global programmes needed by corporate colleagues and hotels to deliver across EMEAA
- Embed community messaging into EMEAAA Hotel Experience Champions Network and other hotel channels
- Local Presence in Windsor Global HQ - drive local charity and NGO programs and partnerships that ensure IHG’s reputation for True Hospitality for Good is known.
What we are looking for
We’re seeking a highly motivated, committed, and well-connected professional with a proven track record in external communications. You must also share our responsible business values and have a passion for delivering ambitious long-term commitments.
You’ll develop an understanding of our exciting and ambitious plans to grow our world-renowned brands around the world, and enjoy being part of an innovative, inclusive culture through which our teams are inspired to succeed.
- Progressive work experience, preferably in the private or non-profit sector working on environmental, social and/or governance issues.
- Experience in strategic philanthropy and community investment measurement and practical experience in measuring input, output and impact from community programmes.
- Proven communicator with the with the ability to effectively engage with array of internal and external stakeholders and proven ability to manage relationships and influence key stakeholders
- Ability to collaborate effectively with range of business partners within a highly matrixed organization
- Ability to take initiative to ensure successful delivery of outcomes in a fast-paced operating environment
- General knowledge of full range of sustainability issues, including environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues, key trends, and best practice with hospitality and across industries
- Strong analytical capabilities, and ability to surface insights and craft compelling communications
- Partnership development and stakeholder management
