Chef de Partie - Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets

We are looking for story tellers, neighbourhood hosts and authentic characters.   Set in the food mecca that is Adelaide Markets this is a hotel for locals and visitors alike.  The second Hotel Indigo to be launched in Australia, Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets comprises 145 guest rooms, a lively restaurant and a soon to be iconic roof top bar with panoramic views of Adelaide, this hotel is going to set the trend for local dining and cosmic cocktails. Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets will open its doors to a wide array of  domestic & international boutique hotel guests and the hotel will employ  colleagues aka "Neighbourhood hosts" across multiple disciplines.

Your day to day

Reporting to the Sous Chef, our Chef de Partie will be responsible for overseeing a section of the kitchen on shift,  maintaining hygienic standards and practices, training more junior kitchen colleagues,  preparation and presentation of a consistent food product which meets customer’s expectations. The kitchen team will deliver innovative and guest focused menus, on seasonal rotation, across the hotels Restaurant & Bar, Rooftop Bar, Event, and Room Service.

You have a genuine passion for food and creating exceptional cuisine.  You will assist in creating a smooth kitchen operation that adheres to local health, safety and HACCP compliance.You must hold the unlimited and unrestricted rights to work in Australia.

It is anticipated these roles will begin in Early November 2020.

What we need from you

The successful candidate will be an existing Chef de Partie or outstanding Demi Chef in a property with multiple Restaurant /Bar venues and Banqueting/Events spaces. You will hold Commercial Cookery qualifications and demonstrate exceptional teamwork skills as well as strong time management and attention to detail. 

  • The Adelaide region provides no shortage of inspiration with incredible produce and local suppliers. Our culinary team will be passionate about showcasing this on our menus across the hotel including Restaurant, bar, in-room dining and events
  • Strong A La Carte experience is a must, and previous experience in an open kitchen and with Modern Australian cuisine will be an advantage
  • These roles will work a rotating roster so it's important to know that weekends, public holidays and in some nights are all part of the job
  • Candidates must hold current Australian working rights suitable to the position to be considered.
