Job Summary
Commercial Director (m/f/d)
What will I be doing?
As Commercial Director, you are responsible for the execution and evaluation of a plan to increase sales, revenue, reservations, and group and event marketing efforts.
As an overall team leader for a commercial team of 16 you work with team leaders in Sales, Marketing, GM&E and Reservations and the Revenue Manager in Hilton’s RMCCE centre for optimal plan and forecast targets and achievements.
You will maintain close relationships with regional and global support structures as well as Commercial colleagues in the region to fully utilize Hilton’s Commercial Engine and exchange best practices.
Specifically, a Commercial Manager will perform the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Closely work with the Revenue Manager assigned to Hilton Munich City in Hilton’s RMCC centre in Watford, UK, to evaluate hotel market mix and revenue forecasts
- Review and analyze and supervise, in a proactive manner, the rate & inventory management and strategy effectiveness as developed and prepared by the Revenue Manager.
- Lead effective efforts to coordinate strategies for group sales and to optimize conversion
- Provide guidance for local marketing initiatives
- Communicate Revenue Management Standards and best practices
- Develops short, medium and long-term strategies for hotels through the “Commercial Focus” matrix and provide consultative support to other commercial support functions
- Make recommendations to take full advantage of revenue opportunities
- Support the training of team members to understand key selling strategies and revenue management, including new tools, Key Performance Indicator (KPIs) tracking
- Coach and develop the hotel-based Commercial Team, through objectives setting, personal development and succession plans
- Prepare, analyze and write reports to outline business progress and opportunities
- Assist with the account diagnostics process and validate conclusions for negotiated business and on-line sales strategies
- Evaluate market demand by utilizing available reports - both internal and external, including market share, market conditions, competitive pricing
- Generate periodic updates on transient booking patterns
- Assist in the recruiting, managing, training and developing of the Commercial team practises.
- Interact frequently with guests, customers and key business partners such as OTA market managers.

- Experience in hospitality forecasting, pricing and inventory control
- Strong leadership skills to effectively engage and motivate a high-performing team positioned to exceed targets
- Strong analytical skills to understand key business indicators and competitive trends and develop approaches to these challenges
- Excellent selling capabilities and the ability and desire to coach selling techniques to Team Members
- Demonstrated experience & skills in a similar role within a Commercial team or Sales function
- Knowledge of the hotel property management systems
