What are we looking for?

The Marketing & Communications Manager supports the Director of Marketing & Communications in all Marketing, Planning & Execution strategies for the hotel. Assists in the development, management, execution, and measurement of all aspects of the marketing, communications and branding strategies under the leadership of the Director of Marketing & Communications.   

What will I be doing? 

  • Assist and supports Director of Marketing in the execution of all messaging, positioning, and marketing strategies. 
  • Supports in the development of strategic marketing plans under the leadership of the Director of Marketing.
  • Responsible to the day-to-day communications with agencies and regularly share the updated hotel offers and activities.
  • Manages the development of creative (in coordination with an agency where applicable) for marketing initiatives, ensures timely media placement and coordination of production/materials deadlines, in addition to, project expense management.
  • Assist relevant departments to achieve revenue targets and related tasks set by the hotel.
  • Coordinate and implement communication plans for hotel activities and promotions with all operating departments of the hotel.   
  • Assist the Director of Marketing in identifying strategic partnerships that align to the hotel’s positioning.
  • Establish good relations with the media (publications, editors, journalists etc.) and implement hotel marketing campaigns.
  • Carry out real-time monitoring of guest comments on various network platforms, including social media, OTAs, Google, etc.
  • Plan and execute hotel public relation activities and achieve expected ROI. 
  • Always be the brand champion ensuring all collateral conforms to agreed brand standards and content is compliant of corporate guidelines and within budget guidelines across all marketing activities
  • Support brand initiatives and ensure hotel brand campaigns are rolled out effectively and communicated using the right tone and voice for each segment
  • Manage a comprehensive targeted database and advertise hotel offers on each market. 
  • Monitor expenses according to the commercial department budget to maximize return on investment. 
  • Liaise with other hotel departments or outside organizations to coordinate and implement different hotel projects. 
  • Assist with photography, videography and interviews of local and foreign media. 
  • Update the sales kit and promotional kit in a timely manner to maintain a fixed capital list. 
  • Responsible for measuring the success of all marketing activities, promotions and campaigns, and producing performance reports for all key stakeholders.
  • Assists the Director of Marketing in the preparation for all strategic meetings, including weekly and/or monthly hotel executive committee meetings, ownership reviews and corporate hotel reviews.
  • Prepares marketing activity reports on regular cadence and on an as needed basis.
  • Create an effective marketing team on property, fostering a productive team culture and encouraging career growth.
  • Encourage and motivate individuals to achieve key company and personal objectives and targets.
  • Put in place a dedicated career path for each team member, with the creation of a Personal Development Plan highlighting key development milestones and timelines.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, ensuring adequate feedback is given and used proactively for further development.
  • Highlight and encourage team members to participate in job specific training opportunities and attend internal and external networking industry events.

What do I need?

  • Education in marketing, marketing communication, Digital Marketing or any related field
  • At least 4 years’ experience in PR & marketing, communication and social media
  • Experience of working in a similar marketing position in the hospitality sector
  • Experience of managing and motivating a team along with evidence of driving successful team results
  • Proven knowledge of creating, leading and managing fundamental and complex projects to tight deadlines
  • Experience of developing, creating and managing marketing campaigns with associated costs and working to budget restraints
  • Complete understanding of key functions relating to marketing strategies and initiatives whilst managing multiple work streams
  • Experience in developing and implementing effective and realistic marketing plans and strategies, including budget evaluation, management and reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with various levels of management
  • Outstanding communication skills in all areas of writing, listening and speaking English. Developed proficiency of native language dependant on location of role.
  • Communicate key information effectively to all levels of management using a variety of communication tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, budget management, project and time management
  • Able to think analytically, critically and strategically when faced with unique opportunities, challenges, prioritising and identifying productive solutions
  • Ability to relate to the marketing world and adapt to changing priorities quickly and with ease
  • Creatively minded and has a thirst to work in marketing for the hospitality industry
  • Demonstrated self-starter with excellent attention to detail
  • High energy and the ability to motivate and manage a team - leading by example
  • Resourcefulness, customer focused and results oriented
