More than 24 million foreign visitors visited Japan in 2016, mainly from Asia: China (6,372,000 visits in 2016), South Korea (5,090,000 visits in 2016), Taiwan (4,167,000 visits in 2016) and Hong Kong (1,839,000 visits in 2016).
It is also noted that the United States represents the largest number of visitors outside Asia in 2016 with more than 1,200,000 visits.
