The Irish Dalata Hotel Group sets up in Scotland

Clayton Hotel Glasgow City

The company founded in 2007 as grown steadily from a portfolio brought to Choice Hotels Ireland to 50 properties across UK including one leased in Düsseldorf. Clayton Hotel Glasgow City is the second property of the group on that market opened with Union Investment.

The 303 rooms hotel arrived after the opening of the Maldron Hotel Glasgow in August 2021. The Clayton Hotel is situated in a 16-storey building in the St Enoch neighbourhood. The refurbishment allowed it to be classified BREEAM Excellent. The property also offers meeting areas with a ballroom, a bar restaurant and a terrace at the 7th floor for events.

We are delighted to expand our presence in Glasgow where we now have over 600 rooms. The hotel, our first with investment partners Union Investment, has been expertly developed at Glasgow’s Custom House, an iconic listed building that has been part of Glasgow City for 180 years.”

Dalata Hotel Group has created two brands Clayton Hotels and Maldon Hotels along with fitness clubs Club Vitae and a F&B offer Red Bean Roastery. The company owns 26 hotels, leases 18 hotels and manages 3 properties according to their communications. It has a pipeline of 5 new properties in London, Brighton, Manchester, Liverpool and Dublin set to open between Q4 2023 and 2025.
