A Radisson Blu to open soon in the wine-making region of Tsinandali, Georgia

Dimitri Kumsiashvili, Minister of Economy of Georgia participated in the signing of a 27M€ contract between Georgia’s Partnership Fund and Silk Road Group, to build a Radisson Blu hotel in Tsinandali (Kakheti) that will open in 2018.

Carlson Rezidor continues to expand in former CIS countries with the realization of a project to establish a new Radisson Blu property in Georgia. The hotel will be located in the east of the country, in the region of Kakheti, which is known for its vineyards and rich past filled with famous guests such as Dumas and Pushkin. The Georgian sovereign Partnership Fund will contribute 9 M€ to build the hotel while the investment fund Silk Road Group will finance the the rest with 18 M€. The hotel is slated to open in 2018.

With a capacity of 111 rooms, this will be the 4th hotel of the Radisson Blu brand in Georgia. It will also consolidate Silk Road Group's portfolio, which originally specialized in rail transportation in Caucasus, prior to diversification in the hotel industry. The Silk Road Group, established in Georgia at the beginning of the 1990s, developed through the revitalization of the trade routes that were ignored during the collapse of the Soviet Union.
