Gilles Clavie, new CEO for AccorInvest

He will succeed John Ozinga as Chief Executive Officer from 1 July 2020, concluding a process initiated jointly by the Board and John Ozinga a few months ago.

Since 2014, Gilles Clavie has been Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Orbis. After joining the Accor Group in 2001, he joined Orbis S.A. as a member of the Executive Committee. He was awarded one of the "20 most efficient CEOs of the Warsaw Stock Exchange" (mWIG40 index) by the Harvard Business Review Polska & TMS Brokers.

In particular, he contributed to the development of Orbis in Eastern Europe, which now has 73 owned hotels, and supported Accor in its asset-light strategy with Orbis in 2019.

"I am grateful and motivated by the encouragement and trust placed in me by the AccorInvest Board of Directors. I would also like to express my deep respect and gratitude to all the Group's teams for their commitment and support. At a time when the hotel industry is facing the worst crisis in its history, our priority is to ensure that the AccorInvest group overcomes it with confidence and makes the most of the opportunities when the hotel sector rebounds," commented Gilles Clavie after his appointment.

Nadra Moussalem, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AccorInvest, welcomed John Ozinga's investment: "I would like to thank John for his immense contribution to AccorInvest. He was one of the pioneers of this adventure and was able to create one of the largest hotel companies in the world. It has been particularly instrumental in making the right decisions in the face of the unprecedented global health crisis we have faced in recent months.

In addition, I am pleased to welcome Gilles Clavie as the new head of the company. Gilles brings a solid operational and financial background that will enable him to successfully lead AccorInvest in the coming years. The Board of Directors is fully committed to supporting Gilles and the management team in the pursuit of the company's growth strategy."
