Motel One Berlin Mitte

Real estate investor Foncière des Régions announced the acquisition of two Motel One hotels in Germany in a sale & lease back operation.

Foncière des Régions is increasing its presence in Germany. The real estate investor bought two Motel One hotels in Berlin-Mitte and Frankfurt-airport through its subsidiary Foncière des Murs. The amount of the transaction is estimated at 34 million euros, rights and expenses included for this sale & lease back operation. Motel One will thus manage two properties for the next twenty years.

Motel One Berlin-Mitte (2 stars) has 184 rooms, a bar and free WiFi in the common areas. Motel One Frankfurt-airport, meanwhile, has 271 rooms, free WiFi  and a bar. "With this initial operation, Foncière des Régions intends to support Motel One in its development, as we have done with our other hotel partners over the past ten years, such as Accor, Louvre Hotels Group, B&B Hôtels and, more recently, Meininger," remarks Gaël Le Lay, Deputy CEO Hotels and Service sector.

Motel One Group was, on January 1, 2014, the 77th group hotel group worldwide with 9,932 rooms in 45 properties, according to data from MKG Hospitality, consulting firm founded by Georges Panayotis (read our report).
