In the second quarter 2015, the British capital welcomed 5.1 million international visitors, or 6% more during the same period last year.
The trend is also positive nationally, while 9.9 million international tourists came to the country between April and June. Foreign arrivals show growth by 5% over the previous year. The total of tourist spending across the country, meanwhile, is 5.8 billion pounds sterling (about 7.8 billion euros), or 7% more than in the second quarter 2014.
While London attracts more than half of the tourists who go to the United Kingdom, the capital expects more than 18 million international visitors in 2015. In this way it hopes to surpass Bangkok and Paris. This goal could very well be reached thanks to the Rugby World Cup being held in the city.
