InterContinental Hotels Group strengthens its presence in Turkey by adding a new property to its pipeline: Holiday Inn Express Istanbul Halkali, scheduled to open in 2014.
The InterContinental group is preparing to operate a new hotel in the city of Istanbul, after signing a franchise contract with Liv Yapi Gayrimenkul Yatirim.
This first Holiday Inn Express hotel in Istanbul will be located near the city's international airport and will have 110 rooms. It is due to open in 2014.
It will join the brand's portfolio in Europe, which currently consists of 219 properties. 38 other hotels are also underway on the Old Continent.
Yalin Yaltiraki, Director of Development, Turkey, IHG commented: "This hotel is the only one of its kind in the airport's vicinity and, together with its prime location, is set to receive a steady stream of guests visiting Turkey.
