Marriott announces the laureates of its incubation program

The pan-European incubation program TestBED 2017, organized by Marriott, provides start-ups with an opportunity to develop their innovative ideas within Marriott-branded properties. The hospitality giant has just announced the three laureates.

The TestBED incubation program, launched by Marriott for the second year in a row, is a way for start-ups to make the most of their creativity and develop their ideas under the Marriott brand. For its 2017 edition, over 140 have applied, out of which 3 have been selected as award winners.

They had a chance to present their respective projects to a panel of specialists who decided which companies were to be offered a chance to develop their concept within a Marriott-branded European hotel.

In addition, the hotel group concluded that the favored themes of the 2017 edition were mobile technology, travel experience sharing, and concierge services, which have been recurrent among applicants.

The 3 laureate start-ups are HiJiffy (Portugal), Mymanu (UK), and Optishower (Portugal). Their innovations are respectively chatbots, translator earphones and intelligent captors that measure water and electricity consumption. Those new products are cutting edge of future innovations in the hospitality sector.
