InterContinental Hotel Group announced that it has cooperated with Baidu Inc. to launch several smart rooms.

Wishing to attract a younger clientele, the Chinese hotel industry has invested in artificial intelligence to provide its customers with smart hotel rooms where almost everything is connected and controlled by artificial intelligence.

Interested by this trend, the hotel group IHG has joined forces with Baidu Inc. a Chinese company specialized in services and products related to the Internet.

IHG will launch several smart rooms in its Sanlitun hotel, located in Beijing's Chaoyang district.

Guests can ask the smart speaker (voice control) for basic information such as travel time between the hotel and the airport, room services, but also temperature control, air conditioning, lighting and curtains.

The system is planned to be installed in 100 suites at 40 IHG properties in China.
