Launched at the 24 Heures du Mans racing competition, AccorHotels' container-hotels offer themselves as a mobile and easy lodging solution.
AccorHotels has recently launched a new, mobile hospitality solution: containers that have been turned into hotels! Designed by Ora-Ïto and produced by the French start-up Capsa, the concepts have been tested for the first time in the course of the 24 Heures du Mans racing competition, last June.
Every container aims to be a comfortable 'life space' featuring a bed, modern amenities (Bluetooth speakers, electric plugs, WiFi access) as well as a private bathroom; but it is also intended to be eco-friendly in its production chain.
Will this initiative, developed by AccorHotels in partnership with the company based near Lyon, open new paths for mobile hospitality? It is even more critical to consider the issue in the context of events gathering lots of visitors, but in cities with a hotel supply less developed than those of major metropolises.
