IHG appoints Michael Zager as Vice-President of Operations for Continental Europe

Michael Zager began his new role on October 1st and will report to Stephen McCall, Chief Operating Officer, Europe. He becomes a member of the Operations Leadership Team. Based in Frankfurt, he will contribute to strengthening IHG's position in Germany and beyond.

A German citizen, Michael Zager has been working in the hospitality industry for 32 years. He started as an apprentice in Germany before working as a professional for a wide range of brands, especially as General Manager. Before joining IHG, he worked as Regional Vice President Middle East and Africa for Wyndham Hotel Group, managing a significant portfolio of properties operated under franchise agreements and implementing operational and functional support tools for properties owned by the group. He was previously responsible for managing and opening hotels in the United Kingdom, Ireland and mainland Europe for Marriott International.

InterContinental Hotel Group operates 657 hotels in Europe, whereas an additional 132 properties are currently under development.
