The crisis linked to the Covid 19 pandemic has had an unanticipated impact on employment in the hospitality sector. The drop in activity due to the closure of properties and travel restrictions led to an unexpected wave of desertion of employees in the sector.
Too many of the staff who had been put on short-time working decided not to return to work in the hospitality sector. Wages, working hours, working conditions and working atmosphere are all factors that damage the image of a sector that has so much to offer. International work, the possibility of development, customer contact, diversity of professions... are all arguments that the sector is trying to promote to its future recruits.
