Ascott has announced a strategic focus on talent development as it aims to open over 300 properties by 2028, creating more than 12,000 jobs. To fuel this growth, the company has launched Ascott Accelerate, a talent management program designed to fast-track high-potential associates into leadership positions.
Growth through strategic talent management
Ascott, a key player in the hospitality sector, continues to focus on expanding its global footprint, with the goal of opening 300 new properties by 2028. This expansion is expected to create more than 12,000 new jobs, including over 1,500 property leadership roles.
As part of this ambitious plan, the company introduced Ascott Accelerate, a talent development initiative to support its workforce’s growth.
“As our business continues to grow and diversify, we remain deeply committed to developing our people, ensuring they have the skills and support to grow with us. Talent development will remain central to our strategy as we expand globally, with over 300 new properties set to become operational by 2028." - Lee Ngor Houai, Ascott’s Chief Operating Officer for EMEA, South Asia, and China
Ascott Accelerate: a structured career path for hospitality leaders
Ascott Accelerate is a structured talent management program designed to guide associates from entry-level roles to key property leadership positions, such as Residence Manager and General Manager.
The program consists of three progressive tracks: Aim, Advance, and Aspire. Each track focuses on building leadership and management capabilities required for various roles within the company.
“In hospitality, the most important resource is our people, and we are committed to helping them thrive. Ascott Accelerate will shape the next generation of hospitality leaders, equipping them with the capabilities to drive our continued success.” - Wong Kar Ling, Chief Strategy Officer & Managing Director for Southeast Asia
Supporting growth with a digital learning platform
To complement Ascott Accelerate, the company has launched a new digital learning platform. This platform provides flexible learning opportunities across various key operational areas, such as guest services, housekeeping, property maintenance, digital technology, and finance.
Associates can access this content at their own pace, allowing them to balance their daily responsibilities with professional development.
The platform is part of a broader initiative by Ascott to enrich learning experiences, including the Ascott Global Exchange Programme, which offers international postings to promising associates, and Ascott Learning Festivals, which are dynamic in-person events where associates can learn the latest industry skills from experts.
A vision for the future of hospitality
As Ascott moves forward with its expansion plans, talent development remains at the heart of its growth strategy. With its comprehensive approach to training and mentorship, the company is positioning itself for continued success in the competitive hospitality market.
“Hospitality is about connecting people across places, cultures, and possibilities. We believe these connections should start within our own teams, and these initiatives reflect not only the scale of our operations but also the passion for people, culture, and discovery that drives our business.” - Wong Kar Ling, Chief Strategy Officer & Managing Director for Southeast Asia
