Cycas Hospitality announces five operational and commercial hospitality expert roles to help support its European expansion plans.
With 20 years’ experience in opening and managing properties in the UK for Hilton, Marriott, Accor and Wyndham, Michael Mason-Shaw brings an in-depth knowledge of the London hospitality market.
He joined Cycas last June as General Manager of the operator's brand-new London property, Hyatt Place London City / East.
After a 15-year career in the hotel industry, Jonathan Bowen has been promoted by the company to General Manager of the Ibis Bridgwater.
Prior to joining Cycas, Petra Baer worked for Marriott International for 22 years, working for some of the group's best-known brands.
In September, she will become the new General Manager of Cycas' first property in Belgium, the Residence Inn Brussels Airport.
Since joining Cycas in 2018 as Director of Accommodation and Serviced Apartments, Philip Steiner has been instrumental in introducing new operational systems across the portfolio to support the company's European expansion.
He will take up the position of General Manager, from September, of the Moxy and Residence Inn by Marriott in Slough.
In recognition of his expertise in hotel operations, in February 2020 he became the first ever winner of the HSMAI Europe Young Talent of the Year Award.
After five years with Interstate Hotels & Resorts, Martin Hird joined Cycas Hospitality, where he was promoted to Group Sales Director.
