The ROMEO Collection has announced that it will open its second property in October 2023. After the brand’s debut in Naples, its new property will be located near Piazza del Popolo in the centre of Rome.
ROMEO Roma will be a 74-room hotel housed in a historic palazzo dating from the 16th century. To realise the project, The ROMEO Collection partnered with the late British-Iraqi architect, Zaha Hadid. The hotel is one of the last projects on which she worked.
The design of the hotel will integrate ancient and modern. Five of the suites will feature ancient restored frescos, thus juxtaposing the history of Rome with Hadid’s contemporary architecture.
The hotel’s gourmet restaurant, Il Ristorante, will be overseen by Michelin-starred chef Alain Ducasse. Its cuisine offering will be completed by Napoletano, a bistro and bar that will serve up Mediterranean-inspired fare.
The property will be home to a 1,200 m² wellness centre. Its well-being offer will be centred around a Sisley Paris spa offering phyto-aromatic treatments, and a movement studio and fitness centre with state-of-the-art equipment.
ROMEO Roma’s additional amenities will include an open-air 2,000 m² courtyard with indoor and outdoor pools, a rooftop lounge and bar, and an international art collection.
The basis of The ROMEO Collection is built on creating spaces that masterfully integrate worldly art collections, contemporary design, and breath-taking architecture, so once we came upon the noble Serroberti-Capponi family's former 16th century palazzo, we knew this was the perfect space to house the collection's next project. The history naturally built into the palazzo and the city of Rome itself became the perfect canvas for Zaha Hadid to create a unique intersection of the past and present. We look forward to welcoming guests at ROMEO Roma, and sharing our uniquely curated experience of beauty tied together with the notable style that the brand is known for.
