Wyndham has passed the symbolic 9,000 hotel mark with 9,059 properties in its global portfolio, representing 109 new openings in the space of a year. This growth is due in particular to the acquisition of the Austrian brand Vienna House, adding some 40 properties to the group's portfolio across Eastern Europe.
The group has also entered the extended stay segment with the launch of its ECHO brand of budget extended stay hotels. The new brand already has more than 200 hotels in its development pipeline, mainly in the United States.
Wyndham is also interested in the resort market and has decided to join forces with Palladium Hotel Group. This collaboration will increase the portfolios of the Wyndham Registry Collection and Trademark Collection brands by 15 properties.
The year 2022 was thus synonymous with growth for the group, particularly on the European, Asian and African continents. This ambition will continue with plans to increase the number of hotels in Greece by 15 over the next three years.
