The second Chinese group in the ranking, formerly Huazhu, remains in 7th place with an evolution of its hotel supply of around 4.20%, i.e. the second best growth of this top 10. Its European portfolio is expanding thanks to the dynamism of Deutsche Hospitality, particularly in Northern Europe.
Evolution of the hotel supply: +4.20%
Number of hotels in 2023: 7,943
Number of rooms in 2023: 724,141
H World Group passes the symbolic bar of 700,000 rooms in its portfolio by adding 28,897 keys in the space of one year to its hotel portfolio. Noticeable and remarkable growth since it is the second largest in the ranking, just after Choice Hotels, which follows it in this top 10. The group is thus approaching 8,000 hotels in operation (excluding owned hotels operated under third-party brands) .
The start of 2023 marked the sale of the group's 3.7% stake in Accor. A decision taken following the announcement made by Accor in January 2023 of the sale of its remaining 3% stake in H World Group. The two players will nevertheless continue their partnership in the development of hotel activities in China.
While China remains its core market, the group has not forgotten the rest of the world with the implementation of H World, a unified global distribution platform, integrating inventory management, the connection of direct marketing channels, the price control and membership issues across domestic and international operations.
Deutsche Hospitality is particularly dynamic in the Nordic markets, particularly through the Zleep brand, but is also penetrating new markets, including the United Arab Emirates with the opening of two new hotels.
