Premier Inn is introducing a new room design, known as the Next Evolution Style. This update is set to be implemented in 11,000 rooms across more than 100 locations by February 2025.

The Next Evolution Style rooms feature a new look with neutral colors and enhanced lighting. Key updates include double shower heads, full-length blackout curtains, and soft purple lighting in bathrooms. These changes aim to improve the overall guest experience, focusing on comfort and relaxation.

“We have worked hard to enhance our hero room design and are so proud to launch our new rooms which are based on meticulous guest research, introducing more flexibility and personalisation for guests than ever before, as well as creating a more efficient environment for our team members to service the rooms. We know how important sleep is and as the experts in resting easy, we’ve invested to create the best environment possible for our guests, evolving these new rooms along with consumers’ needs. In doing so we’ve striven to create a warm and welcoming environment where guests can feel comforted and cocooned for the best night’s sleep possible”. - Sarah Simpson, Head of Product & Proposition at Whitbread

The updated design also includes flexible desk spaces to accommodate changing work patterns, replacing the traditional fixed desk. This new approach caters to both business and leisure travelers, reflecting the trend towards more adaptable working environments.

To address the increasing popularity of social media, the new rooms incorporate ‘Instagrammable’ features such as contemporary artworks and neon signs in public areas. The layout of the rooms has been adjusted to include separate zones for preparation, sleeping, and working or relaxing, creating a more spacious and functional environment.

Premier Inn has also redesigned some of its ground floor areas, including digital check-in stations and informal meeting spaces. This redesign aims to enhance the guest experience by offering a range of seating options and informal meeting areas. The changes are based on feedback from regular guests, aiming to create a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere that aligns with current trends and needs.
