PPHE Hotel Group has received planning permission for a new mixed-use development in London’s South Bank.

The project will include a 15-story hotel featuring 186 rooms, along with two floors designated for office and light industrial space. The ground floor will offer a public area with an all-day dining bar and cafe.

“We are delighted to have been granted approval to execute our plans to create a mixed-use development at 79-87 Westminster Bridge Road. The development will combine lifestyle hotel rooms with welcoming office, leisure and creative spaces for the benefit of the entire community. This is a hugely exciting project for the Group, located close to some of London’s most exciting landmarks. This development will further enhance the Group’s strong presence on London’s South Bank and add to our high quality, well-located London portfolio which will increase to 3,900 rooms as a result. We look forward to beginning work on the project and updating stakeholders in due course.” - Boris Ivesha, President and Chief Executive Officer, PPHE Hotel Group

Situated on Westminster Bridge Road, opposite Lambeth North Station, the development aims to integrate modern design with sustainability, targeting a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ environmental accreditation. The site, acquired by PPHE in 2019 for £12 million, will transform a former brownfield area into a functional space catering to both tourists and business visitors.

This new hotel will be the fifth PPHE property in the Waterloo area, further enhancing the group’s presence in London. The development is part of PPHE’s broader strategy to expand its portfolio through its ‘buy, build, operate’ model. Additional information regarding the project’s timeline and investment details will be provided as the project moves forward.
